Barbella Magas

Barbella Magas (GHS Class of 1974) is a unique athlete when it comes to the CUSD #7 Wall of Fame.  During Barbella's high school days, girls' sports were not available.  However, she was a member of the Girls' Athletic Association at GHS.  After graduation, Barbella attend the University of Illinois where she was a member of the first women's basketball team at U of I.  She played for four years at the U of I where she started and lettered in two of those years.  She was also on the women's track team where she was a letter winner.  While at the U of I, Barbella also won the George Huff Award for Excellence.
