1964 GHS Football Team

Entering the 1964 season, optimism was high for the Miners Football Team as they had fifteen lettermen returning. The Miners, under Head Coach Bill Parmentier and Assistant Coaches Andy Easton and Emil Borgini, would finish the season with an 8-0-2 record. This undefeated team would be the second one in GHS history and the first since 1927. The Miners were a tough task for opposing teams on both sides of the ball outscoring their opponents 298-65. They also rushed for 2140 yards and threw for another 1118. Twelve of the players also played on the basketball team that went 25-3 that year. Several of these men served our country during the Vietnam Era.
